Always. We clean, rinse and allow proper drying. If there’s residue or moisture under the seal, it won’t bond, and we’re not about shortcuts.

Q: Will sealing make it glossy?

Only if that’s what you want. We offer natural matte finishes, colour enhancers, and wet-look options. You choose the look, we make it happen.

Q: What about slip resistance?

We can add a non-slip coating, especially useful around pools or sloped areas. We’ll recommend it if needed.

Q: How long does sealing last?

Most quality sealers last 5–10 years depending on exposure and surface use. We’ll give you the right advice for your surface.

They did not use pressure blasting as their business name might imply, but what they used was perfect for the job and they were able to clean the indoor/outdoor decorative concrete floor in the sun room as well. They were top blokes, nothing was too much trouble or too difficult. The oil stained cobblestone driveway under the carport was no match for this pair and it came out almost stain free, to my great surprise. Before we even think about sealing, we make sure the surface is ready for it. Because putting a premium sealer over poor preparation is a pretty expensive way to achieve a disappointing result.

Assess the surface, including existing coatings, stains and any problem areas
Clean and prepare using methods suited to the material
Allow suitable drying time before application
Apply a penetrating, colour-enhancing or specialist sealer based on the surface and desired finish
Explain curing times and how to maintain the treated surface

Some jobs need additional cleaning, multiple applications or a bit more elbow grease. Others are straightforward. Either way, we’ll tell you what’s involved and do the job properly.

Do you clean before sealing?

Where cleaning is required, absolutely. We make sure the surface is properly prepared and sufficiently dry before sealing. New installations may need a different preparation process, but the principle is the same: good preparation makes all the difference.

Will sealing make it glossy?

Only if that’s the finish you’re after and the surface is suitable. Many penetrating sealers maintain a natural, matte appearance, while colour enhancers can bring out richer tones. Some coatings provide a glossier finish. We’ll help you choose the right look before anything goes on.

What about slip resistance?
